Let's get personal

Below you'll find my biggest personal interests.
Running 1/2 Marathons in all 50 states
New River Gorge, West Virginia

While I have not yet completed my personal endurance challenge, I am well underway, having achieved nearly half of my goal. My experience includes multiple full marathons, several triathlons—including a Half Ironman—and countless 5K and 10K races. The half marathon is my preferred distance, as its accessibility and length provide a unique opportunity to experience the character of a city; covering 13 miles through an urban environment offers a meaningful and immersive perspective of the area. I have also competed in several trail races, which I find particularly rewarding. Notably, I have completed trail half marathons in South Carolina and West Virginia, as pictured.

Traveling the World
Pisa Tower, Italy

I prioritize traveling broadly and experiencing new destinations with a focus on experiencing cities in a meaningful and authentic way. I seek out the defining landmarks of each destination, including museums, places of worship, monuments, parks, and historic squares, and make a point to navigate cities through public transportation and local cuisine. I enjoy learning about local culture, history, and the forces that shaped each country, and I rarely visit a destination without participating in a guided walking tour to gain deeper context. I also appreciate capturing distinctive, memorable moments along the way—unique photos that reflect the character and story of each place.

I earned a bachelor’s degree in nutrition, driven by a strong interest in how nutrition fuels both cognitive performance and physical health. I am also a NASM-certified Personal Trainer. After college, I founded and operated a boot camp training program for sorority members while working as a personal trainer. I found profound fulfillment in helping clients achieve measurable goals and improve their overall health. Nutrition and wellness continue to be long-standing interests that influence both my personal lifestyle and professional discipline.

Things I love

My family and my husband, Carlos are most important to me, next to my career. Chances are good that you'll hear me talk a lot about them.

Carlos has been my partner and best friend for over 10 years. We met in Croatia in 2015, and moved in together within 6 months of meeting.

Our travel dynamic works well, with my attention to planning and detail complemented by his adaptability and enthusiasm, ensuring each trip is both well-organized and enjoyable.

I designed and landscaped our backyard and actively maintain five raised garden beds where I grow food in a challenging desert climate. I’m also cultivating fruit trees and a variety of outdoor flowers, including roses, bougainvillea, honeysuckle, and lavender.

I’m a passionate animal lover. While my travel and career make owning a pet difficult, I’ve always enjoyed the companionship of my mom’s dogs, who are truly man’s best friend.

I have a strong appreciation for National Parks (Glacier pictured), as well as technical trails in UT, CO, TX, Lake Tahoe and Las Vegas. Trail running and hiking remain preferred weekend activities.

I love all sports including mountain biking, road cycling, swimming, wake boarding, wake surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, skiing & bowling (have even scored over 200 a few times. Most of these aren't competitive, but so fun.

I also enjoy playing competitive sports, including softball and kickball—our team won multiple seasons—along with golf, tennis, pickleball, triathlons, running races (trail and road). I thrive in both team and individual activities that challenge me physically and strategically.

I love spending time on beaches, lakes, and rivers—tubing was a favorite college pastime. Heat doesn’t bother me, having grown up in Texas and now living in Las Vegas. I’m especially fascinated by sea life and the mysteries of the ocean, as seen on my travels to the eastern tip of continental Europe in Portugal.

I enjoy attending live professional sports for the energy and atmosphere. I’m a fan of Ferrari F1. the 49ers, SF Giants, and San Jose Sharks, but I also love watching games from any sport & team—including memorable moments like the Patriots’ 15-degree playoff game in New England and cheering on the LV teams locally.

Living near Napa & Sonoma sparked a strong interest in wine - particularly how climate and seasonal conditions influence each vintage. I spent time exploring regional wine styles and production methods in Mendoza, France, Portugal, and Italy. These experiences shaped a genuine appreciation for wine rooted in understanding, not just tasting.

Volunteering with the LIVESTRONG Foundation for 12+ years has been deeply meaningful to me. My contributions have included supporting cancer survivors by engaging them in the LIVESTRONG Challenge, as well as assisting with the distribution of educational and awareness materials to advance cancer education and community outreach. This long-term involvement reflects my commitment to supporting those affected by cancer and promoting health awareness.

I got my first horse when I was 4, and fell in love with the speed and freedom a horse could bring. Galloping my horse full speed in the mountains of NorCal when I was 9 is what got me into trails and led me to be the runner I am today. We sold our horses for now, but the chapter isnt over.

I prioritize reading and learning as often as possible, reading 12 self improvement books/year to stay mentally sharp. I especially enjoy exploring new ideas and discoveries—like my visit to the Nobel Prize Museum in Stockholm, where I immersed myself in every award exhibit and never wanted to leave

All outdoor games - bean bags, beer pong, ping pong, badminton, and board games. This includes all games involving strategy, critical thinking and humor

Sailing on yachts, especially with Carlos. We met on The Yacht Week Croatia in 2015

Since this is PaigeJewell.com, I've banked some of my favorite adventures. To the observer it's #nobodycares, but to me - it's all the experiences that have made me who I am today. This life makes me feel incredibly #happy and #blessed. ;)
